About

Cathy is a screenwriter and actor with a special interest in female-led horror and thriller genre work.

Coming from an activist background (having founded the SAFER campaign, which was featured on BBC News and the Today Show), she is especially interested in addressing climate issues and gender politics through female led narratives.

Cathy's most recent project 'Black Samphire' has just started its festival run. The film was completed in association with River Action UK and starred Ishtar Currie-Wilson (The First Omen, Lockwood and Co), with a feature from multi-BAFTA nominee, Stephen Fry.

The film saw Cathy interviewed on Sky News (view here).

Her first produced short, 'Bloom', was a meditative take on how we address sexual assault in film told through a subtextual narrative which never mentioned sexual assault explicitly. The film was featured in Film Stories Magazine and was created by an all female cast and crew.

Cathy was nominated for best original screenplay at the National Youth Film Awards in 2022 for her film 'Foolsproof'. Cathy has also received GENERA funding for her comedy-horror micro-short 'Chair Monster'.
